Chihuahua led the export in the fourth quarter of 2022 with 19,814.7 million dollars and a participation of 14.8% of the national total, announced the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
In its publication Quarterly Exports by State, the Inegi reported that exports from the state of Chihuahua increased 27% in the period October-December 2022, compared to the same quarter of 2021, according to preliminary figures.
In second position was Coahuila, followed by Baja California, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, with exports of 16,764.3, 14,287.4, 12,733.3 and 8,434 million dollars, respectively.
In total, these five states contributed 53.8% of the total exports in the country.
According to the figures, the states that presented the greatest increase were Hidalgo, with an increase of 48%; San Luis Potosí, 43%; Colima, 39.4%; and Puebla and Nayarit, 37.8 and 37.5%, in the same order, detailed the institute.
In the October-December 2022 quarter, the transportation equipment manufacturing subsector stood out for its participation in the total value of exports with 37.1% of the total, with the states with the greatest contribution in this activity being: Coahuila, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Chihuahua and Puebla. These entities concentrated 61.2% of the value of these exports.
In the electronic equipment subsector, Chihuahua, Baja California, Jalisco, Tamaulipas and Nuevo León were the ones that presented the greatest contribution; together, they accounted for 93% of the total; among the most significant.
