Growth
San Luis Potosí is emerging as a leader in Mexico’s industrial landscape, achieving significant recognition in growth and economic development, according to the latest data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). The state of San Luis Potosí has achieved a remarkable 18.5% growth in overall industrial activity, climbing to the fourth position nationwide. Even more noteworthy is its progress in the manufacturing industry, which has seen a 21.7% increase compared to May 2022, placing it in the first position nationally, well above the national average of 2.3%. Mayra Edith Velázquez Loera, head of the State Population Council (COESPO), attributes these achievements to the support of new global investments, generating better-paid jobs and promoting well-being and quality of life in the region.
Foreign Direct Investment
“San Luis Potosí has taken off and will continue on the path of progress, benefiting all sectors of the population,” stated Velázquez Loera, emphasizing that the state has also attracted significant Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), reaching $1,211.8 million in the first half of 2023, placing it in seventh place nationally. This upward trend in San Luis Potosí’s industrial and economic development underscores an era of opportunities and sustainable growth, laying the foundation for a promising and prosperous future for all residents of the state.
