These dynamic positions the state as the sixth most relevant exporter in Mexico, with a trade flow that exceeds 27,800 million dollars. The operational strength is directly reflected in cross-border trade by road and rail, where the region maintains the leadership in the exchange of goods with the United States, registering an increase of 4.7% in land flow.
The competitiveness of the area is reinforced by a 46.8% increase in foreign direct investment during 2025, which guarantees a solid and constantly expanding business environment. Strategic proximity to international crossings such as the Anzalduas Bridge and Pharr Bridge allows industrial operations to maximize their efficiency and global connectivity.
In the energy sector, the state reaffirms its capacity to host large-scale projects by positioning itself as the second largest energy generator in it. In addition, the region stands out in wind energy generation and a 10% contribution to the national production of petroleum products, consolidating a diversified energy matrix that guarantees supply for heavy industry and logistics.
The implementation of strategic infrastructure projects, such as the Libramiento Reynosa gas pipeline with 97% progress and the plan to strengthen the electricity grid, ensures that industrial growth has the necessary technical support in the long term. This combination of first-class terrestrial connectivity and immediate energy availability makes the region the preferred destination for companies looking to establish themselves under the nearshoring scheme
