Irapuato, Guanajuato witnessed a momentous occasion as finnish company METSO inaugurated their new facility, marking the expansion of operations in the region. The newly unveiled plant, the third one in Irapuato, is exclusively dedicated to the production of polymer for filter press applications, underlining METSO’s commitment to innovation and growth.
Between 2019 and 2023, METSO made a significant investment of $67.2 million in its expansion initiative, resulting in the creation of nearly 500 direct and indirect job opportunities across their plants in Irapuato.
While the existing plants specialize in the manufacturing of rubber components, including poly-met components, truck bed liners, wear liners, mill linings, conveyor parts, and pump components, the new facility, located within a 9,000 square meters complex, is made to elevate METSO’s supply capabilities for mining and aggregates customers in North and Central America.

Setting a benchmark in forward-thinking and sustainability, METSO’s screening plant incorporates the latest advanced manufacturing practices. Notably, the facility has solar panels that contribute to approximately 50% of its electricity needs, exemplifying METSO’s commitment to eco-friendly operations.

The inauguration ceremony drew the presence of prominent figures like Alfredo Monreal, Sales and Service Manager at METSO, who emphasized that the expansion goes beyond business growth, playing a pivotal role in community development.
