Nuevo Leon leads the expansion of industrial parks in the country I 24 June 2026
June 24, 2026

Nuevo Leon consolidates its position as Mexico’s main industrial infrastructure hub by concentrating five of the 20 new industrial parks that began operations during 2026, according to data from the Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP), also maintaining another 38 developments currently under construction. These new complexes, with a mixed-use vocation to house manufacturing, logistics and distribution operations, are located in the municipalities of Apodaca, Pesqueria and Salinas Victoria as part of the Plan Mexico strategy.

There are currently around 260 industrial parks in operation within the state and, with the projects under development, it is estimated that the overall figure will exceed 300 industrial complexes. This positions the state as the number one market in this area thanks to the attraction of developers from all over the world, including regions such as Mexico City, the United States, Australia, China, and various Asian and European countries.

A key factor in its competitiveness is energy availability, since the entity has approximately 700 megawatts of energy, the highest figure in the country, which strengthens its position within North American supply chains. The leadership is also reflected in the national participation of parks affiliated with AMPIP, where it concentrates 18% of the total, ranking above Baja California with 16% and the State of Mexico with 12.4 percent.

At the national level, the delivery of these first 20 parks linked to the goal of 100 complexes of Plan Mexico represents an investment of more than 711 million dollars with the capacity to house approximately 245 companies. Together, they cover about 3.5 million square meters of industrial space available to take advantage of opportunities derived from nearshoring.
